Helping local government support vulnerable residents

Soldo has been named as a Crown Commercial Service (CCS) supplier for the pre-paid cards framework, Lot 2. That means entities such as local authorities can now use Soldo to distribute funds to individuals more easily while getting more visibility and control over purchases.

Distributing extra funds when they are needed most

As the cost-of-living crisis worsens, more and more people are struggling financially. Local authorities, agencies, and organisations across the UK have been given access to emergency funds that can help vulnerable residents cover essential costs like food, energy bills, and water bills. As well as help those that are joining or integrating back into society.

Helping agencies and authorities manage funds

Many authorities use bank transfers or food vouchers to get funds to vulnerable residents. However, this doesn’t allow them to get them out quickly, manage funds or keep funds aside, specify how funds are used, or create reports on where funds are going. With Soldo, they can.

Our pre-paid Mastercards® cards offer residents secure, instant access to funds, whilst streamlining accounting processes for the authorities distributing them. Cards can also be reloaded, have set limits and auto-top ups.

Distribute funds and limit purchases efficiently

At Soldo we have worked to build a product that specifically supports agencies, authorities, and government organisations to distribute social care benefits, funds to cover things like food and heating bills, and more.

Cards can be issued to residents and used like a debit card in shops or online. Cards can be distributed and topped up quickly, ensuring essential emergency funds get where they need to go – fast. Cards can also be limited by merchant category code, spend type, and geographical location so they can only be used at appropriate outlets.

Track and report spend easily

As every purchase is automatically recorded, it’s easy to create reports that show exactly where funds are being spent. And Soldo’s unique software allows local governments to manage funds in different wallets, so they can set money aside for different individuals, projects, or organisations.

Any un-used funds are also able to be recovered and reassigned to different projects, programs or individuals.
